The Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy was established in 1992 as a spin-off from the Faculty of Engineering.
The Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy consists of the departments of Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and Food Engineering, and offers education and training at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in all of these departments. The faculty’s primary goal is to train high-quality engineers equipped with advanced skills and knowledge and experienced through laboratory opportunities.
The Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering contributes significantly to national development by conducting research projects in close collaboration with industry. In our laboratories, which are equipped with modern instruments, research is conducted to address the demands and needs of the public and private sectors, within the framework of projects supported by the Ministry of Development, TÜBİTAK, the YTÜ Research Fund, and international funding.
The Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy became an institution providing quality assurance in educational services by obtaining the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate on February 24, 2006, and on December 1, 2008, the laboratory received ISO 17025 Accreditation.
In light of all these resources, the Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy at Yıldız Technical University continues its work by enhancing the quality of its research, education, and instruction.
