History of Faculty

Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering  was founded in 1992 by separating from Faculty of Engineering. Founding Dean was Prof.Dr.Ahmet Topuz.

Under the Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, Bioengineering Department, Chemical Engineering Department, Food Engineering Department, Mathematical Engineering Department, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Departments are consisted . All departments have undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate education. The main purpose of the faculty is to graduate engineers who are equipped with high-level qualifications and knowledge.

Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering conducts research projects with industry and provides a high level of value to the development of the country. In our modern equipped laboratories, according to the demands and needs of public and private sector, projects are carried out within the framework of internationally funded projects,DPT funds, TUBITAK funds and  Yildiz Technical University Research Funds

By receiving the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate on 24 February 2006, education at the Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering has become an institution in the service of offering quality assurance. On  December 2008 the laboratories were taken ISO 17025 accreditation.

With these opportunities, Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, continues to work on improving the quality of education and training.
